You know what I like but I’d never appreciated about this scene before? Dean has been deliberately scripted into what has traditionally been a female role for this scene. Because it’s always the geeky/scruffy girl who gets made-over and astounds the sophisticated guy when she waltzes down the stairs and is, in fact, gorgeous. 

So that’s part of what the ‘don’t objectify me’ line is all about. Because that’s often what those scenes are about when they are written for women. And Dean is cluing in to that, to how life can be for women, and verbalising the problem.

…and yeah. All that was obvious really. But I don’t analyse pre-Castiel stuff all that much so I’m slow :p
